Abdominal ultrasound
A non-invasive imaging test to examine abdominal organs – liver, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, and gallbladder.
Duration
15–25 minutes
Preparation
Fasting required – do not eat for 6 hours prior. Avoid gas-producing foods the day before.
Aftercare
You can return to normal activities. The result is discussed immediately after the exam.
